ProMetalTools INDUSTRIAL METAL WEIGHT CALCULATOR
Legal & Technical Notice

Disclaimer

Important legal notice regarding the accuracy, limitations, and theoretical nature of calculations on ProMetalTools.

Last Revised: October 2026

1. Theoretical & Estimative Nature of Calculations

All data, results, volumes, and weights calculated using ProMetalTools (including but not limited to Hex Bolts, Allen Bolts, Studs, Grub Screws, and Hex Nuts) are provided strictly for theoretical estimation, informational, and preliminary planning purposes.

While our algorithms use standard mathematical models (such as ISO/DIN pitch-line pitch cylinder calculations and standard geometric formulas), theoretical calculations cannot account for real-world manufacturing deviations.

2. Manufacturing Tolerances & Material Deviations

Actual physical fasteners differ slightly in weight from theoretical values due to:

  • Dimensional Tolerances: Standards (ISO 4014, ISO 4017, DIN 933, ASME B18.2.1) allow upper and lower limits on head height, width across flats, thread crest rounding, and shank diameter.
  • Material Density Variations: The density of commercial metal alloys (e.g., Mild Steel at 7.85 g/cm³, SS 304 at 8.00 g/cm³, Brass at 8.50 g/cm³) may vary marginally between batches, mill certificates, and temper grades.
  • Surface Coatings & Finishes: Electroplating, hot-dip galvanization, passivating, PTFE coating, or black oxide finishing alter the gross final weight.

3. No Professional Engineering or Structural Warranty

The information on this website does not constitute official structural engineering certification, aerospace stress analysis, or metallurgical advice. ProMetalTools, its developers, and contributors shall not be held liable for any procurement errors, freight miscalculations, structural failures, financial losses, or project delays arising from reliance on the estimations provided by this tool.

4. Verification Requirement

For critical commercial procurement, maritime shipping declarations, or structural engineering projects, users are strongly advised to verify values against certified physical sample weighings, official manufacturer mill test reports (MTR), and applicable international engineering standards bodies (ISO, DIN, ASTM, ASME).

5. Third-Party Advertisements & External Links

ProMetalTools may display third-party advertisements (such as Google AdSense) and links to external websites for related references. ProMetalTools does not endorse, guarantee, or assume responsibility for the products, services, accuracy, or privacy policies of third-party advertisers or external websites.

6. Changes and Updates

We reserve the right to amend, update, or refine our formulas, material density metrics, and site features at any time without prior notice.
